St James has committed itself to supporting a Tearfund project in Cambodia.

Margaret Hanson is our link person for this project.

Human trafficking and labour exploitation destroy life, taking away the fullness and joy God wants for all of us. In North Western Cambodia the people served by this project count the cost of such abuse and extreme poverty. Vulnerable adults and children are manipulated by both their circumstances and abusers into feeling hopeless, worthless, and forgotten.

We have made a financial and prayer commitment to this project and plan to annually have a speaker to update us on the effectiveness of this work.  Find out more about the project by following this link:

About Tearfund

Tearfund believes that the local church is a powerful force for transformation in communities living in every kind of poverty. Inspired by the example and teaching of Jesus, Tearfund recognizes that people have deeply interconnected material and spiritual needs, and they seek to meet those needs by working through local church partners. Churches are at the heart of their communities – full of dedicated, resourceful people who want to make a long-term difference.

Tearfund work particularly in Africa, Asia and South America – and also across Eastern Europe and the UK. Right now, they’re focussing on some of the biggest challenges facing the world today.
