Internationally-acclaimed saxophonist Brian Molley brings his quartet to Leith for the next in the Jazz at St James concert series.

Audiences and critics on three continents have taken to Molley’s warm, personal tone and superbly crafted compositions. His quartet has toured North America and India and Molley himself earned a much-coveted ‘One to Watch’ accolade from Europe’s leading jazz magazine, Jazzwise, following the release of his debut album, Clock, in 2013.

India has been particularly welcoming to Molley. After a successful appearance at Rochester Jazz Festival in New York in 2015 his quartet flew on to Rajasthan’s RIFF festival and has since made a return visit there in 2016, in addition to appearing at Madras Jazz Festival 2017 before touring to Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore.

These travels are reflected in Molley’s music, with last year’s Colour and Movement album revealing influences from India and Brazil as well as closer to home.
