Wonderful part singing from Sunday 30th July

The reign of God, like farmer’s field,
bears weeds along with wheat;
the good and bad are intertwined
till harvest is complete.

Like mustard tree, the reign of God
from tiny seed will spread,
till birds of every feather come
to nest, and there be fed.

Though hidden now, the reign of God
may, yet unnoticed grow;
from deep within it rises up,
like yeast in swelling dough.

The reign of God is come in Christ;
the reign of God is near.
Ablaze among us, kindling hearts,
the reign of God is here!

We also reflected on Jesus’ words about what we treasure, by writing Haiku poems (7-5-7 syllable)
Here’s a selection of what folk wrote…

————

Birds on our terrace
Food and water provided
Go, tell all your friends!

————

At table together
mixing colours and stories
heaven’s recipe

————

you came as a gift
unnamed but richer for it
now an orchard grows

————

old photos I love
of memories held with joy
more precious than gold

————

eternity weaves
in Hebridean turquoise
fried eggs at their best

————

give me some space please
remind me that I am free-born
a wild horse, a plain

————

in an open car
eyes shining, wind blows her hair
she lives completely

————

parked my bike
smelt coffee and cake and heard
Taize, I was home

————

pull on your strong boots
take the path to the mountain
be still with nature

————

respect all people
and share God’s love with them all
and be very joyful

————

breathe close to the sea
green hills and blue horizon
each dawn different

————

I treasure my home
a safe place to come back to
solace with Jesus

————

sun blessing being
enjoying loved one’s pleasure
beauty in stillness

————

one eye open still
my hope cooling in my hand
as the bird stiffens

————

God’s beautiful world
music stirs deep inside
Treasure? My family

————

time with my friends
and time with the family
beats silver and gold

————

sow seeds, watch them grow
feast on nature’s lush green leaves
no plastic needed

————

we wake up each day
the wonder of just being
yet so distracted

————

they walk free with us
hills and gardens speak of care
learn to be good friends?

————

life and living
joy unending for friends and family
peace in the world, and laughter

————

rich diversity
making space for all to sing
their own tune, one song

————

still and listening
to our God of surprises
rich stretches of time

————

the sunlight pouring
light of God in the morning
I walk towards you
